Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is a British American musician and sitarist, is well known for her songs. She's the smallest woman and was the first person to be awarded a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar, a young emerging singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is both the student and daughter of Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982, and the first few years of her life she was split in London New Delhi. Her debut concert was in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. When she moved to Encinitas the state of California, in 1999 she earned a high-school certificate. The career of Anouskha as a recorder and performer is remarkable, even at her young age. She frequently joins her father on stage, which she has been doing for several years. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. It was nominated for a Grammy Award. Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Apart from performing in every major venue, she also has a long stage career. Her career doesn't just comprise music. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. Also, she appeared in movie in 2003. Her role was an Bharat natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Her career continues to grow and she is expected to achieve great success in the near future. Anoushka Shakar, born in England spent a large part of her life between London Delhi. When she moved to California she graduated from her high school. From the age of nine she started studying music with her father. She made her debut with the sitar 4 years later at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. Anoushka has gained lots of experience touring across the globe with her dad. She played in Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. The youngest female to receive the House of Commons Shield, given by the British Parliament as recognition of her talent and musicianship within music and the Asian Arts.
